Baked Ziti


The best thing about this meal is the ease of it.  This recipe is very simple and could easily be enhanced.  You could add onions, bell peppers, Italian spices, or anything you want!  Also, the original recipe is vegetarian, but I added a 1/2 lb of beef to make it a little more hearty, so that’s another option.

This dish is super easy to make and requires only a few ingredients.  It’s great for grocery shopping on a budget!  I will say, this dish tasted good, but it didn’t blow me away.  It was a wee bit bland.  However, I’m sure with the addition of some more ingredients (see above), it could really be a great dinner!  That being said, I really love pasta so I still liked it :-).

Baked Ziti

Serves: 4

WW Points:  9

Ingredients:
8 oz ziti pasta, cooked and drained
1 ½ c marinara sauce
½ c part skim ricotta cheese
½ c shredded part skim mozzarella (I used more cheese than this, but that will affect the WW Points)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix marinara sauce and ricotta until smooth. Then combine with cooked pasta.

Spread into an 8×8 dish and bake for 15 min. Sprinkle cheese on top. Cook 5 more min or until cheese bubbles.
