Happy Cocoa Day, everyone! What? You didn’t know that today, December 13th, is National Cocoa Day? Shame on you. And you call yourself an American. Don’t worry, there’s still time to celebrate! I have just the thing!
I’ve grown up with Swiss Miss hot chocolate packets, and those things are ok, but they don’t hold a candle to this stuff! This cocoa is rich and delicious, and it’s not too thick. I once had “hot chocolate” that was so thick it was like drinking chocolate flavored glue. This is definitely better than that! I also prefer white chocolate to milk chocolate, so I LOVED this stuff. It’s really yummy, and it would be great to serve at parties!
So next time you look outside and see icky, cold, icy weather just whip together some white coca and you’ll feel much better! This pairs well with any type of Christmas cookie and is best served while watching Christmas movies.
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 6 cups milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 12 oz pkg white chocolate chips (try to use a high quality chocolate like Ghiradelli if you can)
- Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker.
- Heat on low for 2-2 1/2 hours or until chocolate is melted and mixture is hot, stirring occasionally
- (You can top with marshmallows, whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and/or peppermint pieces...mmmmmm)
